Do you have students who have no clue what they want to do with the rest of their lives??? Some may want to pursue a 4 year degree but some may be undecided. And some may not have truly thought about it! The four year commitment to studying may be too expensive or of little interest. The University of Arkansas Professional and Workforce Development program is offering a four day camp at Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale to introduce students to skills that are needed in our economy that do not require a 4 year degree. Students will participate in a four day program that introduces industrial maintenance, surgical technology, welding, and information systems.
This summer camp is offered by the University of Arkansas’ Global Campus for students ages 13 to 18. They will explore careers in skilled trades. Sessions will be taught by industry professionals and employers. Students will use their hands and minds to complete different projects described here. Student will learn from an innovative STEM curriculum through creative exercises and fun hands-on activities while solving problems with classmates.

Some offerings are virtual or on demand. Some are in fields such as technology or medical where students can progress in careers by stair stepping various certifications.
