Coffee is one of the world’s most traded commodities, and also one of the most unequal in its distribution of profits across the value chain, taking advantage of primarily small farmers for the benefit of those at the end of the chain including major branded food companies, retailers, and restaurants.  Arkansas-based Westrock Coffee was founded to bring transparency and economic impact to those producers that put their entire lives into the coffee we drink.

So, travel with us to breath taking Rwanda while sipping your morning coffee with local biscotti samples!  Learn the founding story of Little Rock’s Westrock Coffee; the impact on Rwandan citizens after the genocide; the coffee production process; and global supply chains — all while sipping a cup of Westrock coffee.  Your morning cup will take on new meaning.  Teacher teams will participate in a marketing activity while ‘cupping’ coffee.

Coffee samples and biscotti will be mailed in advance of July 19th registration. Teachers receive 2 hours professional development and $25 eGift card with ready to use resources for your class.  What a win, win, win sampling situation to end July!!!  And to get caffeinated for the return of students!

Register here:  Wednesday, July 28, 2021  9:00 to 11:00

Hope to see you virtually from all regions of Arkansas for our travel journeys!
