Want a fun place to work with a comfortable lounge area, community kitchen, ping pong table and really cool associates who are like a family? Are you a skilled graphic designer? Do you like managing accounts and getting the job done?  Then check out B-Unlimited founded by Ben Clark.  Ben Clark is a creative guy, a great problem solver, and a really nice person.  As a youth he started his own painting business.  But his dyslexia and ADD caused him to fail in college.  Through much trial and error and the necessity of supporting a family he built a business model that enabled him to find his niche market — serving Greek life across the U.S.  When the company was struggling for business, Ben found that Kappa Kappa Gamma wanted quality shirts and fast turn around.  With the help of friends, he provided.  The sororities started sharing their shirts on Pinterest.  Now B-Unlimited provides shirts and embroidered apparel to more than 500 sororities or fraternities in over 200 universities.

Ben developed a team with a fun culture.  His company is about relationships.  He hires nice people and then trains them.  At B-Unlimited you can take the meal plan right out of your pay check and a kitchen mom who helps with meal prep.  Imagine never having to worry about lunch plus you get to relax and visit with friends. The ‘factory’ is a very cool and innovative place from the lighting, design desks, ping pong table, and adult beverages on tap. Even the printing machines are cool. B-Unlimited uses water-based screen printing that results in a design that washes well and adheres to softer fabrics – resulting in comfortable attire.  They are developing their own brand known as Natural Threads.

After filing bankruptcy and using his house for collateral, B-Unlimited now grosses 10M in sales, is in 200 universities, and has 100 employees.  They provide their customers with quality products, great designs and a fast turn-around. Ben notes that they accomplished all of this with little marketing.  The customers, sororities girls, shared on Pinterest.  When other sororities wanted shirts, they contacted B-Unlimited.  To learn more about Ben’s tips for entrepreneurs listen to the Thrive podcast the Startup Junkie podcast.
