Want to introduce your students to Arkansas entrepreneurs from all across the state using online activities? You don’t have to do any prep. Your students go to the Natural State Entrepreneur website and work individually, in groups, or as a class to learn about entrepreneurs who capitalized on The Natural State to build their businesses. Stories of a pre-med student who went to Ponca, Arkansas, population 117, to build a business based on floating the first national river in the US, the Buffalo River. Or a couple from the Arkansas delta who built a business employing 35 family members by growing vegetables rather than row crops and who sent food to Hurricane Katrina victims. Or an entrepreneur who is known as ‘America’s Gardener’ who developed TV shows, tours and more on gardening, cooking and decorating. Or a former teacher who wanted a safe nail polish to paint her daughters ‘little piggies’.
